Alkyl‐Amino Functionalized Reduced‐Graphene‐Oxide–heptadecan‐9‐amine‐Based Spin‐Coated Microsupercapacitors for On‐Chip Low Power Electronics

With the miniaturization of microelectronics, integrated circuits can benefit from an on-chip solid-state power supply. Microsupercapacitors (MSCs), owing to their long lifetimes and complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) compatible fabrication, be a potential energy storage unit. MSCs fabricated through spin coating graphene-oxide (GrO) often suffer insufficient electrode thicknesses that lead low densities. It, therefore, requires functionalizations for GrO improve MSC thickness and, thereby, performance MSC. Thus, herein, alkyl-amino functionalized reduced-graphene-oxide–heptadecan-9-amine (rGO) are reported enhanced thickness, high capacitance, lower series resistance compared with GrO-based (GO-MSCs). The rGO solves significant issue inadequate in wafer-scale fabrication while achieving higher densities fewer coatings. rGO-MSC displays areal capacitance 108 μF cm−2 24 GO-MSC also demonstrating more than twice its density integration ionic liquid electrolyte 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfony)imide (EMIM-TFSI).
